New Year Resolution, SMART Goals or Neither? Tips for creating a 2019 goal that you can stick to.
A new year…a new you…a new resolution? Ahhh, welcome to 2019! We made it through the hectic holiday season and now we have the added pressure of coming up with a New Year resolution whether it be to eat healthier, get back into the gym, save more money, learn a new language, etc. Whatever it is, it’s good to set goals, but let’s not set ourselves up for failure.
According to U.S. News, about 80% of resolutions fail by the second week of February and only 8% actually accomplish their goal by year-end. Yikes! Why even bother?! Well, we bother with it because we all have dreams and aspirations to live a life we love and setting goals is crucial to achieving just that.

- Measurable
- Attainable
- Realistic
- Timely

At Synergy Financial Solutions we like to challenge our clients to “dream big” and therefore we focus on a goal-setting process that allows you to be engaged and keeps you motivated, which is ultimately a more successful and satisfying experience.
Continuing this week, we will focus on re-purposing the SMART Goal acronym into a framework for setting goals and one that you’ll want to stick to! Dare to dream big, my friends!
