How to Teach Your Kids about Money
One of the questions I ask as part of my discovery process is, “What did you learn from your parents about Money?” – And the resounding answer is, “Nothing.” Discussing finances with the entire family has been considered taboo for way too long now. We’ve all discussed right vs wrong, good vs bad, reward vs consequence with our kids, so why not have these same discussions about finances and money management? It’s no different than teaching them life’s lessons on how to ride a bike, look both ways before crossing the street, share with others, clean their room, cook dinner, or the scariest of all – how to drive. It’s time to start having these conversations with our kids to arm them with the knowledge and tools they need to make good decisions later in life! Here are some tips on how to get the conversation started.
